Boxer bitchs conception

Question
I have a 3 yr old boxer bitch that I have successfully had 2 tied breeding on the 12th %26 14th day of her heat cycle. This is with a proven stud. 2nd attempt with same stud. No puppies were produced last time. I had her thyroid tested after 1st breeding and it was normal. Is there anything I can do to ensure conception?

Answer
Hi Kellie

There is nothing you can do to ensure conception unless you had the sperm implanted directly into a females horn.

With a female that didn't take the first time, I would recommend progesterone testing.  She could ovulate earlier or later than normal. And a progesterone test can narrow it down to the day.

I would also let her breed every day while she was willing to stand.

Good luck
