Question
My Jack Russell had 3 puppies, not her first litter, and she is fine with the puppies
I would like to know if I can give her wormer while she is nursing?

Answer
Hi Linda

Wormers should be given prior to breeding and again when the pups are 4 - 6 weeks old.  It's a good time to worm the pups too.

There are worms that can lie dormant for years in the muscle of a female.  Once they become pregnant, the worms work there way into the blood steam and into the pups.
