i have a male dog 20mth and an 4yr bithch who is in day 9 of her season he keeps mounthing her and doing bisness but they dont lock can she still get pregnant he is swollen out when finished

There's a small chance. However, Mother Nature invented the "tie" for a reason.

Day 9 is still early.  Instead of wasting their time and making them both frustrated, keep the male away from the female for a few days, and then let them breed.  BUT only bring them together once a day, too much is over kill.
