pregnant beagle temp drop

Question
i have a 2yr old beagle who is pregnant and due anytime now. a few nights ago she lost what i believe is her mucus plug and i was advised to start checking her temperature. the first day i checked it, it was 98 degrees, the next day/night it jumped to 100. as of yesterday and today it seems to be sticking between 98-99 degrees. i hear if it drops under 100 degrees she should be expected to go into labor within a few hours. she seems very content though and just being lazy and sleeping a lot. could she possibly be getting ready to go into labor? how much longer could it take before she does?

Answer
Hi Natasha,

What day is she?  What is her "normal" core temp?  Is she panting, quit eating or in any distress?

Gestation is 64 days and Mother Nature works on her on schedule, so the pups will come, when they come.  An exact time is impossible to tell, although I would hazard a guess and say within the next few days.
