Question
Hi Denise, I have a pug who had pups 15 days ago. They all died and I can't have her fixed until 21 days when her milk dries up. I have noticed my male following her alot and tried humping her today. Can she get pregnant again this quick? Thank you

Answer
Hi Tammy:

I'm so sorry for your ordeal. I'm sure you're heart-broken over the loss of the litter & you have my deepest sympathies.

Your female won't have another heat cycle for about another 3-4 months so chances are your male is simply behaving this way due to a change of scent, likely associated with her hormone levels being somewhat erratic. He could also just be stating in doggie language that he's boss or attempting to be dominant. Regardless, the likelihood of her having another heat cycle at this stage is extremely unlikely if not scientifically impossible.
