the runt

QUESTION: my bxer gave birth to 7 pups, but the last one is so small and has a "raw" place on her head..its almost like she didnt develop all the way. any advice?

ANSWER: Keep her warm and place her on the end nipple.  The "runt" is just the pup that didn't have the optimal placement inside the mother.   

With good food and some extra TLC she could become the largest pup in the litter.

QUESTION: what about the place on her head? and the fact that she doesnt seem to have any fur on it as well

Answer
If she's strong enough to survive the first 48 hours, then she'll be fine and her fur will come in.

Check her sucking reflexes, you may want to give her some flavored icing sugar (you know the kind used to write on cakes). A squeeze onto the tongue will give her a "sugar rush" and give her a boost.
