Question
I have a 4 yr old papillion female she is healthy and very active she has just had her second litter(4 puppies) and they been weened and all pups are gone now.The pups left (5-28-09). The puppies were all healthy and checked by vet even her.About a week after pups left she started losing her hair not really something you noticed right away but over the last few weeks she has lost alot more now looking like she was when lost her puppy fur and was going through the ugly stage. What do I do? Is this normal?

Answer
Hi Edith

With the pups gone, your female could be going through depression as her hormones change.  It's more common than you may think.

A supplement of fish oil (I like salmon) will help boost her immune system and bring her coat back in nice and shiny.

Good luck.
