I HAVE A  MINIATURE DACHSHUND MALE HE HAS NEVER BEEN WITH A FEMALE WE KEEP HIM IN THE HOUSE MY FRIEND HAS A FEMALE AND SHE IS NOW IN HEAT HE BROUGHT HER OVER TO BREED AND THEY RUN FROM EACH OTHER AND WILL NOT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER HE WILL SMELL HER AND THAT'S IT WHAT CAN WE DO?THE FEMALE IS 2 YEARS OLD THE MALE IS ALMOST 4 YEARS OLD NEITHER ONE HAS EVER MATED BEFORE. HELP........

Hi. What day of the heat cycle is she on? If it's too soon, neither one of them will be interested in breeding. You could try to put up a baby gate and put one dog on one side, and the other dog on the other side, and let them get use to each other that way, slowly. But it really depends on what day of the cycle she's on, she just may not be ready yet.
