Question
QUESTION: HI I was wondering if you can tell me how long it would take for my dog to give birth to the other puppies. She's been in labor since yesterday about 10:00 a.m. she had 2 one died when she gave birth and the other one she accidently laid on. This is her second time being pregnant.

ANSWER: Hi Daisy. I hope she's done something by now. If a dog goes longer than three hours inbetween puppies, she needs to get to the vet. If she straining like she's trying to push one out, or is she laying comfortably? I would get her in for a check up. I hope she's ok.

QUESTION: She had one stuck in her yesterday but we helped her get it out. But she hasn't had anymore puppies yet but she is acts like she is trying to push but nothing comes out but green stuff.

Answer
If she's still pushing but not producing anything, then she needs to get to the vet. If she continues to push, she could wear herself out, and labor may stop. If something is left inside of her, it can cause a serious infection and even death. My best advice here would be to get her in to your vet. Even if she has whelped the pups by now, she may still have a placenta in there. Please let me know how it goes.
