please help me

i have a 2 yr old lhaso female who had pups 6 wks ago.she had 3 at 3:30 am and about 6-7 pm that evening she started having contractions and in this little town i live in,i finally contacted a vet at 10:00 pm and had an emergency
C-section done which resulted in 2 pup's remaining and 1 surviving because of one somehow being in the chest cavity.
this morning her 2 hind breasts looked like they were going to explode.i went to the vet and he advised me to milk her which i did and this evening the hind 6 tits were extremely swollen and a huge lump between her middle 2 tits on her left side and hurts severely to the touch.my Q is it possible that the vet missed a dead pup inside and her body is producing extra milk thinking shes still pregnant.the lump is exactly the same size and feels the same shape as 1 of her litter.please call me or e-mail me back .

It sounds like your female is suffering from a form of Mastitis.  

Caked Breasts (Gatactostasis) is caused by too much milk in the gland, either because overproduction or because the puppies aren't suckling enough.  A deformed nipple will also cause this

The treatment for this is to withhold food for about 24 hours, and then limit the amount of feeding for the next 2 or 3 days.  Massage the caked gland twice a day with camphorated oil and apply hot packs.  

Acute Septic Mastitis is caused by bacteria either from a scratch or a puncture. This can happen from a pups nails.  

Antibiotics and massage with the camphorated oil and hot packs help.  You want to make sure the pups DON'T feed from the infect breast as the gland becomes toxic.

You can also stand her in a sink of warm water.  Just let her sit or stand with her teats in the water.  This will help bring her milk down.  Regardless, I would start feeding the pups solids and take them completely off the dam.

I know of one case of a vet "missing" a pup after a c-section and that pup was expelled shortly after. If there was a pup left inside her, chances are, she wouldn't have lasted this long.
