It sounds like the start of whelp.  Keep some vanilla ice cream on hand, the calcium will help with contractions, and the it will help keep her energy up.

Hi Tina

There is no need to cut anything!!!!  Your female will handle all that -- you just need to be on hand to give moral support...and maybe guide a pup.  

Each female is different, depends on size of pups, when her eggs were fertilized, and sometimes I think, how the stars are aligned.  60 - 64 days
