so confused

This is my pekingnese dogs 6th litter.  The babies are doing great and are 1 week old now.  My female however pants all the time.  A friend keeps asking if she is still pregnant, but I have checked her and there is nothing.  What would cause this type of behavior?

I would take her in to the vet for a check up. She may still have either a puppy, or a placenta in there. Did you count each placenta as they came out? If something is still inside of her, it can make her really sick. My best advise would be to take her in for a check up, just to be on the safe side. :-)
