How can I tell if my bichon is pregnant?

Hi. It's really hard to tell for sure early in pregnancy. A dog can experience a false pregnancy, and exhibit all of the signs that a pregnant dog will. It can be confusing. One indicator is that her vulva will stay slightly swollen after her heat if she became pregnant. It doesn't work 100% of the time, but it can be helpful. Her appitite may change, as well as her behavior. She may suffer morning sickness. The best way to tell for sure is to have an x-ray done when she's about 50 days pregnant. That's the only way you'll know for sure. Or, you can wait her out and see. Sorry I couldn't help more, but it's really hard to tell for sure.
