Female prefers to lay down while tied?

I'm trying to breed my pomeranians, they've gotten tied about 10 times now. The first maybe 5 times they got stuck, I stayed there and made sure they don't try and break off, and they both took it very well. But afterwards I noticed my female doesn't want to stand while tied. She kept trying to lay down, so I layed down the male with her so she's not hurting him.

Is this normal for a female to want to lay down while tied? Is it safe? Also, they were tied this morning and for the first time she was whimpering. I've supervised them every time they've been stuck but this last time was strange. She wouldn't stay still I had to hold her down so she stopped wriggling.

Hi Courtney.  I don't believe that your female would try to lay down if it hurt to do so.  I also think that the whimpering is more from her desire to be able to move, more than from pain.

If they have tied 10 times, then I don't think you have anything to worry about.  I would let them alone and they will learn to work it out together.
