My female Maltese is in heat and her and my male Maltese breed numerous times. Yesterday they finally had a tie but it was only for like 5 minutes. Does this tie guarantee her pregnancy???

Chances are your female will be pregnant, although there's no way to guarantee it, even with achieving a tie. A tie can last for only a few minutes or as long as 30 minutes. A tie isn't always necessary to achieve pregnancy but certainly increases the chances. You might want to keep them separated for a day in between matings to ensure the male's sperm is at its best.
