my bitch as been bleading for about 14 days roughly and the male as been stuck to her 4 times now could u tell me if this is the right time while she is still bleeding after being stuck for the 4th time she still want s to mate  i didnt even think its the time while she is still bleeding could u tell me wot to do please

Answer
Hi Robin

A season starts by swelling, the dark red blood and then the blood tapers off to a pinkish color. This is when breeding usually takes place.  Between days 12 and 17 (roughly).  Bleeding should only last 7 to 10 days.  Bleeding longer could indicate a number of concerns including infection.

The right time is when she is ovulating.  Some females ovulate late, some early.  Progesterone testing will tell you when they are ready.  The number one reason a breeding doesn't take is timing.
