QUESTION: my dog is in definate labour i took her temp and it read 98.5f at noon today is this normal ????

What's her temp usually?  I can't tell if it's "normal" unless you know what her CONSISTENT temp is.

Answer
There is no reason to worry.

Temperatures fluctuate.  If your female is sleeping on the floor or the bed, can change her temp a few degrees, if she laying in the sun, on top of a heating register or has just drank water can all change her temp.

Has she quit eating?  Is she nesting?  Is she panting?  Those are signs you can see.
