Question
Hi, We have a 7 month old jack russ/pug who started bleeding 2 weeks ago, the bleeding continued for about ten days and seems to have got less and less, around the 13th day she was very interested in my 2 year old NEUTERED cocker spaniel who in turn was very interested in her , I found them in the garden "locked" facing opposite directions. This happened twice, I wasnt concerned as he has been done, however a breeder told me she had never known a neutered male to take it this far. She hs been on lead and still is at the moment, but I do not want a 7 month old to have puppies, My vet said, he could still get the urge, but surley not after all this time, he was neutered at 10 months, and is now 2. If she was what would the options be, as I feel she is too young to have pups.

Thankyou

Louise

Answer
Hi Louise.  I agree that a 7 month old puppy is too young to have puppies.  I also agree a a neutered male can still become excited, but usually does not tie with a female.

If your dog did in fact conceive and you want to terminate the litter, here is a website that will give you more information.

Good luck, and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have additional questions.  I also want to apologize for the delay in replying to your question.  I am having some remodel work done at my home and lost my internet connection.  It should now be working again without further delay.
