misting bearded dragon

I have  a bearded dragon it is about 6 months old my question is it a good idea to mist it with water and if so how often.thank

Sure, give him a misting every other day--don't spray the cage, just the dragon.  The dragon will drink a little water from the misting.  Many deserts get quite cold at night, so dew forms on everything, and this is how many desert animals get their moisture.
