Golden Agama Lizard

Do you know the life expectancy of the golden agama lizard?  It is also known as Short Toed Agama, Clown Agama, Painted Agama, Painted Dragon.  I need this information for a report my daughter is doing.  Thanks

Hi Kathy, I'm assuming that you mean in captivity. You may have to extrapolate the figure from the lifespans of some of the more commonly kept members of the Agamidae family like bearded dragons and water dragons. These two species have lifespans of around 10 - 15 years. With reptiles, the larger species have longer lifespans and the clown agama is a bit smaller then these two. If I had to guess I would say 8 - 12 years for him.
