Turtles?

Question

Turtle Would snapping turtles and eastern painted turtles live in the same pond? I found a baby turtle that I think is a painted turtle but I was told that there are snapping turtles in the pond and i was just wondering if they would share the same pond?

Hello Angela,

Well, the snapping turtles have a tendency to go after other turtles. So, it probably wouldn't be a good idea. I would hate to have the eastern painted turtle become preyed upon & injured.
How large is the pond?
I would only suggest it if the pond was very large & they could establish their own little territory.
