S.O.S./ Green anole

Question
I saved a green anole from freezing in my garage in December. She has been doing great until a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if the stress from having a male in with her and trying to mate has caused the onset of her illness but she has not eaten anything that I have seen in 2 weeks. The male was in the tank with her for about 3 weeks before we took him out. We feed her crickets coated in calcium and have all the proper lighting. She also stopped driking water. I have been giving her water with a medicine dropper to help and as of 2 days ago she won't even take that. The inside of her mouth is black and I believe she has mouth rot. She is withering away before my eyes. Could she have gotten a respiratory infection somehow or some other kind of life threatening infection and how could it happen so suddenly and rapidly? I'm loosing sleep over what is happening to her.  If you have any info that might help to explain how this happened we would greatly appreciate it.  Thank you very much.

Answer
Hello Jennifer,

Well, that is a possibility that she did get overly stressed when placing the male in with her.  She doesn't have eggs, correct?
Do you have any pictures of her?
What are the temperatures in her tank?  What type of lighting are you using, & what type of substrate is she on?
She probably has parasites or worms in high levels.  Can you get a fecal done on her?
It sounds like you are going to need to get food into her with a syringe, but, get her mouth open carefully to feed her.   Be careful & go slowly so she doesn't aspirate the food, as the throat area is so narrow & small.
You can try to get a swab & dip the swab into some diluted betadine & clean out her mouth if you can.

Let me know how she is doing.
