Question
Hi there Tracie, hope your birthday was great! Got a question; I have a male leopard gecko very healthy and eating and pooping fine but he spends all his time half in half out of the water dish. Have him in a 40 gallon long tank and the cold side is at correct temp. Never saw this before and wondering if it is normal or an indicator of a problem? As always I appreciate your advice.

Answer
Hello Dena,

I got your email...& will email back tonight!
Usually, if a gecko spends too much time in their water it can indicate worms or parasites.
Are you using an undertank heater on the warm side, right?
The only other problem that it could be indicating would be that his warm side is just too hot.  It should be around 88-90 at the highest.

Talk soon.
