which one?

i was wondering if you could help me choose a pet lizard out of a blue tongue skink or a bearded dragon that can be housed together in a male,female group.i was going to get  a male and a female but im not sure which type to get,i only have a have a 1meter by 50cm tank.

Hello Chantelle, you never want two males together so either a male female or two females. And when they get older and one of each gender you will have to separate them because they can't be together all the time. He can get very controlling and she might not want to mate but she will be forced to which leads to fights. So your best bet is actually just getting one. Females will lay eggs even if they don't have a male to fertilize them. A male is your best bet and only one.
As for which lizard, the skink requires less space compared to the Bearded Dragon. Beardies are probably the best for beginners though and are very hardy and easily tamed. It really depends on what you are looking for in a pet.
That tank I tried to covert into gallons but I got just over 60 gallons. That would be fine for a Bearded Dragon or a Skink but Bearded Dragons usually require more. But minimum both will work.

The most I can do is give you a couple of care sheets and you find out which one best fits your needs.
If this is your first pet lizard I really suggest a Bearded Dragon.
