Question
QUESTION: Me and Binti... again.

I decided to move her enclosure into my room, away from the sounds of the birds in the living room and the TV and computers. Unfortunately, this means I'm going to have to resort back to artificial light again, but I have a 40W household bulb I think will suffice for her daytime hours.

I'm trying to see if maybe the more relaxed atmosphere will help her get back to normal. Already, her eyes have begun to open, but she still hasn't quite left her little hideout... no shedding yet either. Will keep you updated.

ANSWER: Hello Amber,

Well, that may help her to be in a more relaxed environment for awhile.  Let me know how Binti is doing.  Has she eaten that you have noticed?
There is nothing wrong with artificial lighting.  You are using a UVB light, correct?
She is not shedding yet?  She probably will soon though.

QUESTION: No, I haven't noticed any worms missing from her dish, but she was wandering around a lot more and seemed much more observant last night during her travels.

I switched to ambient sunlight/nighttime through the windows rather than artificial light at the suggestion of another long-time leo owner, and it seemed to calm Binti down some, but I hope the household bulb will still work for her. I do not use UVB lighting because her supplements already give her D3 and I don't want to hurt her eyes.

No sheds yet. Coming soon, maybe.

ANSWER: Hello Amber,

Well, I hope she will shed soon!
Hm, that is interesting.  Leopard geckos need bright light, but they do need constant warmth especially belly heat to help with digestion.
The household bulb should be fine.
Yes, the supplements do give D3.  I have found however, that all reptiles do benefit from some UVB.  They are from Pakistan so I think leopard geckos would benefit from some UVB for overall health benefits.

Let me know how she is doing!

Regurgitated shed
Regurgitated shed
QUESTION: Hi again.

She got through her shed without much issue. Got it all off her toes, tail, everything. I was happy she finally got something into her to eat.

..Until last night, when I checked and found out that she has, just like last time, regurgitated her skin. The first time, there was skin and some undigested mealworm within it. This time, it was just her skin and some blackish specks here and there, likely because she hasn't eaten any mealworms in some time now. This is how this whole problem started last time; she was eating perfectly well until her shed, then she threw it up and refused food for the most part from then on. Now she's shed again and thrown it up again. I understand that maybe it's too much to put on a totally empty stomach, but how can I make that empty stomach full again if she refuses food and throws up every time she sheds? I've attached some pictures of the regurgitation, but they're not much to look at.

Answer
Hello Amber,

Oh that is too bad Binti just can't keep anything down.
Will she keep any baby food down, either or have you tried the baby food with her recently?
It sounds like she really has some type of digestive problem, or parasite or worm that is affecting her digestion.
Do you have any probiotics to give to her right now?

Let me know how she is doing.
