Question
we have 5 leos in the house but one is very sick. about 6 mo old. all vivs are maintained the same and Niko is only one sick. must be parasite. i'm afraid its crypto? he/she will not eat. i have been force feeding chicken baby food and Zilla JumpStart. fecals are complete water/mucus right now. he is very thin but strong when i hold him. this has been going on for almost 2 months. at one point he was well enough to eat a few crickets but then his condition worsened again. vet visit would cost $150+ meds. do i have any other options? my son paid $20 at reptile show for him

Answer
Hi Kelly,
I'm sorry, only a vet can tell what is wrong with your leo. Its good that you have him away from all of them.  If it is crypto, its vital that you find out for sure to save the rest of your leos from possible infection...even handling him and going to care for the others can cause problems, but, I am sure you know all of that!!!
He may have internal parasites which should not cost that much to test and treat.  Here are some links to vets that treat reptiles.

So many times, depending on where your leos are from, the breeders that are breeding are doing just that...breeding..with no concern as to in breeding, over breeding or the health of their breeding stock..never testing for any parasites or other possible problems.
I'm not a fan of the JUMP START as it contains cod liver oil and is most likely causing the stools to be so loose. If the stools are smelling foul, that is a sign of possibly parasites or infection.
You may want to ask a vet if  "Carnivore Care" supplement would be acceptable to use for a leo. If it is, its available at www.calvetsupply.com
Also, there are places that can help with vet bills.
Here is a list of places that offer help with vet bills in many
