breeding balls

Question
what kind of snakes make breeding balls?  we have some loggers clearing some of our land they found 2 different breeding balls of snakes out there. they thought they might be copper heads. how can i get rid of all snakes--i also have a lake in my back yard so i have to be careful about insecticides that might get into the water help i hate wild snakes.

Garter snakes and some others make breeding balls.  INSECTicides kill insects not snakes.  I'd suggest that as you clearly don't really want to interact w/ nature as it is, you remain in the city.  Condo's rarely have problems with snakes.  Your intended actions would be similar to someone buying oceanfront property in Antarctica and wanting to poison off the penguins...
