green baslisk

hi... i have just rescued a green basilisk from another owner which had no lighting only a heat mat for aprox 2 years, i have had her for about a month an have transferred her to a 4ft tank by 3ft high. she has recently started to bite an try and escape at every opportunity she gets. could you suggest why this is please she gas everything she needs lighting right temp

 She's feeling better and now more active and probably was not handled much by the other owner.  This is normal wild behavior.  Daily handling for at least ten minutes a day may make her more tolerant, but be aware that she is a species, like green iguana, that rarely tames, but just maybe can be socialized.
