Hi, I live in middle Georgia and was hoping you could ID this snake for me.

Answer
This is a juvenile rat snake. :)  A harmless and beneficial species that loves to eat rodents.

Juvenile rat snake all look so darned much alike, that it's impossible to say from the photo whether it is a black rat snake, or a gray rat snake.

The black rat snakes adopt the glossy black coloration as they grow older.
