Gecko behaviour

I have a female leopard gecko who appears to snap her jaws closed when she's about 1 inch from a cricket...it's almost like she's provoking it to move (which actually works).  have you heard this before?

Hi Sara,
Its normal and you are right..she is making the crickets move. Leos don't generally eat food that isn't moving. If you ever feed worms of some type you will see her stalk the dish and even nudge the worms to make them move..then she will strike and grab the worm.
