QuestionI just hooked up for my turtle a 100W Sung Glo Daylight heat lamp. Can this be on 24/7? Will it start a fire. It is a EXO TERRA brand
Answer I can answer this question without saying I'm not versed in turtles, we all use lamps with many species of reptile. The Sun-glo can cause fire if knocked over just like any incandescent bulb. Reptiles do need dark to sleep properly, so I would keep the light on only during daylight hours. If you are needing heat at night, go with a ceramic heat emitter, no light, but a nice warmth from above, and they last for years, as opposed to bulbs.
