Green Anole and House Gecko Eggs

Question
I have a house gecko and green anole. I was getting them out to clean the cage and I found two, small round eggs under a fake leaf. How do I know which of them layed eggs, because we were told that they were both males? And, how do I protect these eggs and have them hatch? Can I remove the eggs, and what do I move them to? I need to clean the aquarium.

Answer
Hello Kelsey, lizards will lay eggs even if they don't have a male to fertilize them. When did you get your lizards? Maybe they mated with a male before you got them? Do NOT turn the eggs over if there is a baby lizard growing then turning the egg will drown it. So take a marker and mark a spot on the top side so if you move them you know which way is up. Now males cant lay eggs (Im sure you know this) so you have a little miss on your hands. Its hard to tell which one laid them but I do know that Green Anoles very often lay underneath leaves. The Green anole female can also carry the male's sperm up to 8 months before laying fertile eggs so if it has been less then 8 months sense you got them then try to incubate the eggs. Both lay 1-2 eggs at a time so that doesn't help either. Green anole eggs are small, leathery and measure about .25 inches (.6 cm).

I will give you some links that might help.
