Do you need a heat lamp to use a heat blub or can the bulb be used in a normal table lamp?

Answer
The base of the heat lamp gets to hot to be used in any lamp fixture that is not porcilan. Heat lamps all have this whereas regular lamps do not. Used in a regular lamp would create a real fire danger. The wire also comes with hi temperature insulation not found on regular lamp cord. Edmund Brown [ReptileEd]
