QUESTION: hello i Bought a green iguana 2 And half year ago done tons of research on these creature but so far no one know an answer my female green iguana name is jade but she over 6 ft long from nose to tail and it confuses me cause from what i understand she only suppose to be 3ft long can u please explain i can and will send pics

ANSWER: Hello Tasha,

Well, chinese green water dragons only get about 3 feet long but green iguanas tend to get at least 5-6 feet long including the tail.   At 3 feet, that would only be a juvenile iguana.
She is absolutely beautiful, too.  What is your tank set up like, or does she strictly free roam in the house?  Do you provide UVB lighting for her & calcium supplementation also?
What type of diet does she eat?  I am happy to hear that she is doing so well & looks great!
Is she pretty active also?
I can send a couple of neat iguana sites if you would like?

Answer
Hello Tasha,

Jade is a great name for her!  I am glad to hear that she does spend a good amount of time out of
her tank, too.
Her diet sounds great also!  Be sure that she does have good UVB such as the Reptisun 10 tube or the Arcadia D3 12 % tube, to ensure she can absorb her calcium properly.
