Question
QUESTION: hi,i tried to send you a follow up on the woodbugs to let you know that the food i actually feed them that i got from pet store is a gut load food if that helps at all.thanx.

ANSWER: Hi Jennii,
If its that gel stuff that really isn't very nutritional, but gives them water. If that is what you are using, I would offer them some grains such as chicken mash(feed) and cereals and of course veggies. If its a grain/flour type product, good!! You can offer veggies (potato, carrot, etc) so that they have a a moisture supply.

QUESTION: its actually a powder and it says gut load on it for pisces woodys.i seem to haved to MAKE lady eat them,as she got used to me hand feeding at first, shes too lazy to make effort and chase them around.

ANSWER: Good on the powder.  I've STILL been trying to find more info on those insects!!
Oh, believe me, reptiles get lazy very fast when they have been hand fed!!
Do you use a dish to feed the insects to your little lady?  If not, you may want to try that as keeping the insects in one spot will reduce her need to chase them.  Using a straight sided glass dish generally works well as they are unable to climb the smooth glass. The fun part is getting on that is deep enough to contain the insects but still shallow enough that the reptile can get the insects.

QUESTION: these CAN climb.

Answer
Hi Jennii,
That makes it difficult to dish feed then.  If you are able to get some other insects such as crickets, I would give those a try.  Just get ones that are smaller so she is able to eat them.  With the crickets, you can break their hind legs which prevents them from jumping. If you are able to find a worm type of insect that may help also. You just don't want to make her meals always the same, variety is important in their diet as each insect they can eat have different nutritional values. On the link I gave you to the WD care site are other insects they should have.
