Is that impaction?
Is that impaction?
QUESTION: My leopard gecko hasn't been eating and i thought was because he still has some shed on his arms and legs but when i went to bathe him i noticed a big blue spot on his tummy i think it might be impaction :(  So i was going to take him to the vet if it is impaction. So by the picture and the fact that he's not eating can you tell if he's impacted?

ANSWER: Hello Liv,

The picture is pretty blurry, can you try to take another one?
It is extremely possibly that he is impacted.  Is the blue spot a lump too?  What are you housing him on, sand or another loose substrate?
We should start treating for impaction, immediately.  Start giving extra oral fluids along with a drop or two of olive or mineral oil mixed with canned pumpkin, sugar free applesauce & squash babyfood all mixed up together.  Soak him in warm water for 15-20 minutes per day, & continue that treatment of the food mixture & the bath daily until he passes the impaction.
Try to get another picture posted for me.  Do you have a vet around?  An x-ray will determine an impaction.

QUESTION: The setup floor is carpet.Thee blue spot is a bump on the top like on his belly it's flat but on his back it's a bump.He wouldn't eat the oil so we dropped some on his lips three times and let him lick it off each time.We are gonna go to the store and get the foods.I was going to take him to the vet today but it was closed when i called because it's thanksgiving.Happy thanks giving i used a different camera to take the picture this time i hope it's more clearer.

ANSWER: Hello Liv,

Hm, that is a better picture for sure.
You can normally see through geckos, somewhat but since you have said that there is a bump on his back it could be impactino.  What could have impacted him, too large of a food item/prey?  How large are the crickets that you feed him?
How is he doing today?  I hope you had a good Thanksgiving, too.  Keep me posted, & I hope you found all of the necessary items at the store.

QUESTION: He died last night before you ever replied thanks alot :(

Answer
Hello Liv,

Oh good grief.  I am sorry that he passed away.  Stupid holidays, you could have gotten him in to see the vet if it had not of been Thanksgiving, I am so sorry.
Do you have any idea what could have caused his impaction?
