Question
hey hey hey. i am the proud owner of a 3year old 4foot, beautiful carpet python named Buffy. i feed her 2-4 frozen mice(defrosted obviously)once a week. change her bedding and heating bulb every 6months or when needed. i tell you, shes living better than me. everything was peachy until one morning, nearly 1year to the day, i opened the cage to change her water, and she bites me HARD. 21times shes bitten me. first i thought it was cose i was black, but know i think its just cose she really don't like me.after the 21st bite,iv given her,her space, as to say that i haven't handle her. not for lack of trying. but every time i open her viv, she goes for me.even when im feeding her she goes for the tongs that i use. i really dont want to sell her on as i love Buffy to bits, and in all relationships, you have to fight to make it work. im looking to go the distance with Buffy. so please find time to help me out. forever grateful Angelo

Answer
LOL, ok so your snake bit you because (not cose) you are black!!!???!!!  LMAO  SO you're saying your snake is a racist?  I'm dying here...

Your snake probably bit you because it has reached puberty and it's hormones are kicking.  Put on a pair of gloves and let it bite the gloves a few times, once it realizes a) that it is  not doing any good to bite you, and b) you aren't a threat, it should stop.  It could also be hungry.  Are you feeding in the same cage it lives in?  If so stop, feed it in a separate cage.  that way it won't associate the opening of the viv w/ lunch.

p.s. maybe you should use a white glove, since your snake is racist...  LMAO
