Question
I own 4 geckos, 3 of which are female leopard geckos and my male african fat tailed gecko. i have had him for about 6 months now. He has lived with my leos all this time i have had him and there had been no problems what so ever. But recently for the past week and a half now it's like he is constantly shedding and on the parts of his body where he has rubbed up against the rocks or something it looks really pused and scabbed. And his eyes look like they are sealed shut from his shedding skin and when he eats just pukes his food back up. His shedding skin also feels and looks like it is coming off very thick. THe leos are doing fine and normal. They live in a 20 gallon tank, with heat lamps and heating pads. they live on sand. and i have a UV light. I called the pet store and they didnt have a answer for me. Please help.

Answer
Hello Jadessa,

Can you post a picture for me?
Do you have enough humidity in there for him?
It is not recommended to mix species however.  The females may be causing him undue stress as well.  They should not be bred either as it probably would not be a very successful mating.
I highly suggest that you try to separate him & put him in his own enclosure.
You should try to bathe him in a diluted betadine bath, gently spritzing him with water to help with his shed.  You can use neosporin or polysporin ointment to help with the sore areas that are getting infected.  Do not use a loose substrate because it is getting dirt & debris into the scabbed area.  Use paper towels right now until you get those areas cleared up.

Let me know how he is doing.
