QuestionHello
Is it possible to castrate a male leopard gecko? Would it have a major effect on their personality?
I wish to house my male gecko with females but I do not have the resources to deal with egg incubation and baby care. I also do not wish to stress the females through undesired birth.
Thank you
AnswerHello Joseph,
Oh I do not recommend castrating your male gecko. That does have some impact on them, & if you do not get a good reptile vet to do the surgery on him it could cause complications.
The best thing to do is to just freeze the eggs, & that will take care of that. Or, put a divider in the tank to keep the males & females separate. Just get an extra undertank heater & basking light & cave for each end.
