QuestionUnfortunately, my cat & dog found a tiny, baby lizard. By the time I rescued him, he was not looking so good. His back legs look kind of "bum." He's only about 1" long (yes, one INCH) & just precious. I know he needs to be released outside, but I wanted to be sure he's not partially paralyzed 1st. So far, he only lifts his head & tries to "talk" to me. I told my boyfriend that he keeps trying to "meow" to me, cause thst's what it looks like (& I'm a cat person). So, what kind of environment should I set him up in till I know her's OK? What do I feed him, how do I give him water, etc? I know NOTHING about lizards, just that I hate for this little guy to get a shitty hand. Now I feel very protective towards him. Pleasr help!!! THANKS!!!
Answer The gaping could be fear, pain or both. If he has injuries then a wildlife rehabber is who you need. National Wildlife Federation will be able to give you the name of one nearest you. Or, of a herpetological society is near you, they also will know the names of rehabbers in your area.
