Question
QUESTION: about 2 months ago i bought an adult bearded dragon what was been sold as a female .when i got there i looked at it and relised it was male or so i thought and the lady looked on the web and she agreed with me it was male.but when i looked in the viv this morning i noticed about 15 yellow eggs how can this be as he she is on her own ? and should i just throw the eggs .and do i need to give her or him special care
thanks lynsey

ANSWER:   If there be eggs, you have a girl!  Yellow eggs are infertile and can be thrown away.  However if she had ever been with a male, throwing them in the freezer overnight will be a good idea.  She will need extra calcium rich greens, calcium supplement, some good baths to rehydrate her and an extra helping if insect prey.  Be aware, she may lay another clutch in a few weeks to a month after this one.  I would suggest to go to www.blackninjakitty.com click on dragons and then click on gravid beardie laybox.  Ther you will have complete instructions on making an environment that will encourage her to lay her eggs completely and quickly which will be more healthy for her.

QUESTION: cheers for that but its just weired how she has 2 nodules underneath her just like a boy oh well i suppose its not an exact science

Answer
It can happen, usually it is a male mistaken for a female, although full adult males have larger pronounced skulls.  A herpetologist assured me that my first dragon was a female, after a vet check Brenda was renamed Brendan.
There is a movie premiering here in a week, "Nim's Island" and the part of Fred is being played by five beardies...one is a girl.
