QuestionWe have a 5 year old male Bearded dragon. He lives in a 55 gallon aquarium
with sand and basking logs and rocks/water reservoir and food bowl. He is
currently shedding-his whole body - I don't remember seeing even his toes
shedding - but never the less he has one toe on his front foot that is swollen
about 2 times its actual size. It looks sore - he is waving that foot it seems
more than usual. His appetite is really good. What can I do for him???
AnswerHello Karen,
Hm, it sounds like he is retaining some shed on his toe or foot area. You definitely need to take a look at that & get that all off before it begins to constrict the area. He could lose that area if it doesn't come off.
You can soak him daily & use some aloe vera gel on the area which should help to moisten the area & it should hopefully get the retained shed off.
What is his humidity in his tank? It should run around 45% or so just to help with shed.
Let me know how he is doing.
