Question
Hi
i just got an australian water dragon a few days ago..its about 17" long and pretty big anyways i have him since Tuesday and he hasnt eaten anything yet and just 10min ago it big my finger what should i do??

Answer
Hi Nick, it is actually very common for the first 3 days to a week for a new reptile to start eating. He is still scared and unsure about his surroundings. He doesnt know what is going on and is probably stressed because of it. Give him some time and some peace and quiet. Make sure there are no loud noises and cover his enclosure with a cloth (avoiding the heat lights) when you feed so he will feel more secure. I wouldnt try to handle him much either. Reptiles do stress easily and this particular one can tame down and become tolerant of handling but with the first month it is not advised.

Good luck
