unbred gecko laying eggs

Question
Two days ago my unbred female laid an egg.   She has lived alone since we brought her home 3 years ago as an itty bitty thing.  I cannot find any information relating to this and I wonder why she is doing this as well as what I should be doing for her.  She laid another today...

Answer
If the eggs are bright white they may be good.  Incubate on barely moist vermiculite at around 85 degrees F.  If they are yellowish they are probably infertile.  Parthenogenesis is a condition in which some females can fertilize their own eggs.  It is well documented in reptiles.  Just make sure her prey items are well fed and properly dusted (calcium/vitamins) and she'll be fine.  You might want to look into getting a male as she is obviously ready to breed!  Have fun.
