QuestionHi I have had my beardie Karl for about 6 years, I am not sure of his exact age
since we found him in a closet of a house we were renting when we moved
in. I have recently noticed that his femoral spots look darker and larger than
usual, almost swollen. He eats well and is very active, it doesn't seem to
bother him but I have never seen them this pronounced before. Is this
something I should be very concerned about?
Answer The femoral pores can get pretty big in an adult beardie. At his age, I would take him to a vet anyway for a check-up, there a reptile vet can see how big they are. Usually there is a waxy substance that is called a seminal plug in the pore, if they are overly large, a vet would be able to tell if it's just a horndog male looking for love, or possible infection.
