desert lizard species

Question
I inherited a desert spiny lizard, he ( still not sure of sex) is not interested in being held at all. Could I keep a euromastix in the same cage with him? What is the life span of euro? Information I have for swifts is that they live about 2 years. He is only interested in live food, no veggies and stays under the sand a lot.

Answer
Hi Jennifer

I have been trying  to answer your question all day and I have been having computer problems
I think that I finally have that fixed and so here goes

It is never a good idea to mix different species of reptiles in the same enclosure
Here is an excellent post that gives the reasons why you should not do so

http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/lizards/35374-mixing-species-please-read.html

As for Uryos-There are many different species of Uromasts and here are a links to a forum that should help answer some questions that you might have about them

They are not a beginner's lizard as they require more care than the average lizards and there unfortunately is a very high neonate mortality rate when not enough is known about caring for them correctly

I hope that this helps
