Question
ok i lost a beardie and i need help  we have been looking around but we cant find her so what should i do ive put food out and sorta made it dark in the house and played some guitar hero so can you help me do something else to get her out of the hiding place shes in its in the house so what should i do???

Answer
Hi Austin, Try to take advantage of her natural behaviours. Beardeds are diurnal (active during the day) so that is the time that she may venture out of hiding and move around. If the house is kept dark and the floor is cool then she will hide and be far less active. If she was not in her brumating/hibernating phase when she went missing she will likely try to seek out a heat/light source to bask in. Is it possible to set up a light close to the floor for her? Loose reptiles often stay toward the edges of a room for security, either next to a wall or close to furniture.
An old trick for locating lost reptiles is to sprinkle flour along the room edges or across doorways. That allows you to check for footprints and movement and narrow down the search somewhat. This works better on hard floors rather then carpet, obviously!

I don't suppose you have a cat or could borrow one for a few hours? You would have to supervise, of course, but most cats are masters at quickly locating anything small and moving inside a house. Good luck with the search!
