Question
hello. i have a female bearded dragon. She lives in a large tank on the left side of my room. I'm going to buy a ribbon snake and put it in a large tank on the right side of my room. My bed is between these two cages. Will having the two reptiles in my room be a problem? Will it cause my female to be scared and not eat or somthing?

Answer
Hi Beck, That's an excellent question. Beardeds are quite visually aware of their surroundings but I have never encountered this as a problem.  My own bearded is in a mixed species room with a clear view of several snakes and has never reacted in any way. I had the same situation when I worked with animals in store display cages, beardeds and snakes within clear view of each other and no reaction from the beardeds. I have had beardeds react in a territorial way or with arm waving when they have spotted another type of lizard in a nearby cage so perhaps captivity has just dulled their natural caution about snakes. I really don't think you will have a problem.
