Should I be concerned about my CWD

Question
QUESTION: I've had this guy for probably a week and a half and he usually eats quite a bit but this time he wouldn't even look at the food. I tried a cricket and a mealworm. I picked him up to check on him and there was slimy stuff all down his neck, and what kinda looked like a snot bubble coming out of his left nostril.

His terrarium is about 5ft or so tall 4ft wide and 2ft deep. My girlfriend and her mom bought it so i'm not 100% sure what lamps they bought. By the looks of things the UVB bulb is 5.0. I couldn't tell you the exact specs of the day basking lamp or the night one. But I know it's right around 80 degrees in the day in about the middle of the terrarium and about 75 degrees in the same spot. There's only one temp/humidity gauge and humidity ranges from 50 to 70 depending on how much I spray it at one time. I have coconut husk as the main substrate with splotches of moss from the brick all over. A waterfall and a large water dish. He uses the dish for defecation and the waterfall for hydration like I intended. To me everything looks fine, I'm looking at changing the UVB bulb to 10 and getting another temp/humidity gauge and staggering them like they should be.

He's moving around just fine, doesn't seem to be letting anything stop him. Another thing, he seemed to have been breathing prpetty heavy through his mouth when I spotted the snot bubble on his nostril. The symptoms almost resemble a human cold. Do lizards get colds? If so what should I do. Everything else looks fine, his stool is firm. He's just starting to get his green and it looks to all still be there, no fading back to brown yet. He's going about his daily routine, except for eating. Maybe he's just full from the feast he had yesterday? I'm not sure how much to feed him he ate 3 crickets one being a big one and about 7 or more mealworms. He seems to have a large appetite. I can't really take him to a herp vet because I work ridiculous hours. If he absolutely needs to go to a vet I could try to have my girlfriend and her mom take him.

ANSWER: Hello Scott,

The basking spot should be around 95 to 98 or so, to help with digestion.  The humidity sounds like it should be pretty good based on your description of your tank setup.  The waterfall, water dish with coconut husk substrate should work out great!
I would change the 5 UVB bulb out, yes.  The best choices are the Reptisun 10 tube bulb or the Arcadia D3 12% either one.  You can get them from  www.lightyourreptiles.com
Yes, they can get respiratory issues/infections from improper temperatures.  What type of thermometer are you using now?  A digital probe, a temp gun or a stick on type?

Do you have any pictures of him?
Are you giving calcium regularly, around 4-5 times per week?

QUESTION: That's the only one for now, I'll probably end up with more later on. Yes, he gets calcium just about once every day. The thermometer is a traditional needle gauge. Just got another for his basking spot. You never know how hot 95 degrees is until your hand is under a basking lamp XD. Nonetheless, the only trouble will be the 10 UVB, the size of the bulb isn't one I've been able to find in town, so I will probably have to order it from that site you gave me, that helps a lot, thank you. Should I maybe look at another method for measuring the temp to possibly get a more accurate reading? And should I keep the infrared bulb on at night? I'm leaning towards yes, especially since he got the RI. And since the tank is so tall what could I use for the bottom? Reptile heating pads? Should I look into making room for a lamp lower down in the terrarium? I just want to make sure it's the best environment for his species seeing as he's not at home. By the way, I'm in Southern Arizona, so our nights are colder than usual right now with the winter and I didn't anticipate the colder nights. I think that might be where his RI came from "/.

ANSWER: Hello Scott,

He is very young because his spikes are not very big yet.
Yes, the better way of measuring the temperatures are using either a temp gun or a digital probe.  They are very accurate.
You can use an undertank heater or a ceramic heat emitter for nighttime use if needed.
Yes, you could try to get the basking light a little closer, but no closer than 8-10 inches or so just for safety.  I would not use an infrared bulb since the red spectrum can be seen by them & can disturb their sleeping.
I would try ordering a light from that site, the service is great & very fast delivery, too.
That is fine on the calcium, once a day, 5 days a week should be sufficient for him now.  How is he eating now?
Water dragons can't get too cold or they get ill & can die from getting too cool.  So make sure the overnight temperatures stay no lower than 60-70.  They are a tropical species so they need it a little warmer at night.

Let me know how he is doing.

QUESTION: Thank you so much for all the tips. Yes, he's eating like normal again. He doesn't like the syringe in his mouth for his meds though. Where can I get a good undertank heater? And the temp gun too. Where's a good place to look for that one?

Answer
Hello Scott,

That is great he is eating pretty well now!  I hope he continues to do so.
You can try going to:

www.reptilesupply.com

or

www.petmountain.com

They both have some great products & have undertank heaters & temp guns.  Do not get any stick on types of thermometers.  You could even get a digital probe also.

Let me know how things are going.
