Mexican Lizard Identification

Question

Mexican Lizard
I came across this Lizard in the foothills of the Sierra Madres in Jalisco, Mexico (near Puerto Vallarta).  In trying to identify it, it seems to have a longer tail than a beaded lizard, so I'm hoping you can help me figure this one out.  Thank you!

Answer
Hi, sorry for the late response. That is definitely not a beaded lizard, and appears to be a species of spiny-tailed iguana (Ctenosaura), possibly a female. It could also be (though less likely) a member of the Amagidae family. I am not sure of the exact taxonomy of the genus of that area of Mexico, however. I can assure you that it is completely harmless, and an iguanid.
